HEADLESS COMMERCE
HEADLESS COMMERCE
2025.
The buzzword of the decade. But when is the technical overhead really worth it?
The Freedom of Frontends
In classic e-commerce, frontend (what the customer sees) and backend (database, logic) are tightly coupled. "Headless" separates this connection. The backend only delivers data via API. The frontend can be anything: A website, an app, a smartwatch or a voice assistant.
Advantages
- **Incredible Performance:** React/Vue frontends load almost instantly.
- **Design Freedom:** No limitations by shop templates.
- **Omnichannel:** One backend for Web, App and POS.
Disadvantages
Higher development costs and complexity. You build the frontend virtually "from scratch".
Our Conclusion
For brands with high design standards and complex customer journeys, Headless is the way. For standard shops often overkill. We advise honestly.
